Model 1928 West Hurley Thompson Serial Number 306TF

Includes Commercial Asian Drum and 2 magazines

We are offering this Thompson Submachine Gun for sale, which is a West Hurley Model 1928, serial number 306TF, and was manufactured in 1981 by Auto-Ordnance in West Hurley, New York. Its “TF” suffix serial number indicates it was originally manufactured as a .22 LR caliber machine gun using a steel receiver. In 1987, many of Auto-Ordnance’s remaining inventory of .22 caliber full auto Thompsons were converted to .45 ACP. The weapon is roll stamped on the left side of the receiver, “U.S. MODEL 1928,” and “THOMPSON SUBMACHINE GUN, CALIBER .45M1.”

This Thompson just finished being inspected, cleaned, and test fired, and had the wood conditioned by Thompson gunsmith Dan Block. The wood is beautiful! The rear sight is an original West Hurley protected type with the M1917 ladder insert, and it features a finned barrel with a Thompson trademarked compensator. The wood is original to the gun, with removable buttstock, and a vertical foregrip. The finish has some minor scratches and other handling wear that is normal for a 40 year old Thompson.

This would be an excellent shooter gun for a beginning collector, or for someone who wants to preserve their higher condition Thompson, and have another one to use for Thompson shoots and subgun matches.
